Shanghai's Venice - Located in a suburb of Shanghai city, Zhujiajiao is an ancient water town well-known throughout the country, with a history of more than 1700 years. Covering an area of 47 square kilometers, the little fan-shaped town glimmers like a bright pearl in the landscape of lakes and mountains.
Endowed with another elegant name - 'Pearl Stream' - the little town is the best-preserved among the four ancient towns in Shanghai. Unique old bridges across bubbling streams, small rivers shaded by willow trees, and houses with courtyards attached all transport people who have been living amidst the bustle and hustle of the modern big city to a brand-new world full of antiquity, leisure and tranquility.

Itinerary
After about 80 minutes’ drive from the city, you will arrive at Zhujiajiao-the Ancient Water Town. Its main street is lined with quaint shops and restaurants serving local favorites. You can stroll the maze of paths and bridges, and take a boat ride to view the residences of this nicely-preserved water village. Zhu Jia Jiao is also home to two impressive temples, which add to the charm and historic significance of the village.
Return back to Shanghai and continue your visits to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower located on Pudong side.
End the tour at the Shanghai History Museum, located in the basement of the Oriental Pearl Tower. The exhibits and artifacts trace the history of old Shanghai, with an emphasis on the time period from 1860 to 1949. Exhibits include models of Shanghai’s famous buildings, a vehicle collection with trolley cars and embroidery pieces.
